The cost of doing a chilled semen breeding on your own is over $200. You'll have to add in vet fees if the vet helps (signature required by AKC if you register it as a chilled semen breeding). I imagine that it could easily add another $400 to the process, assuming the vet on each end charged $100 each time.
The "cooler kit" from ICSB is $40, and you need two of those to do two breedings. The extender is included, but if you already have or can borrow the re-usable cooler kits, the extender is $20.
