We only need to know the parents and grandparents of the mother. The father
we already know that: (1) he is carrying 2 red genes and (2) he is carrying
2 particolor genes. He is only going to give a blenheim gene to his
offspring. What we need to know is the mom--her parents and her
grandparents. Are there rubies in her background so that it is possible she
is carrying a red gene? Are there any particolors in her background so that
it is possible she may be carrying a particolor gene? If there are no
particolors for several generations--it is somewhat likely (but not set in
stone) that she doesn't carry for particolor--if so you will only be able to
get wholecolors from this litter--there will be no blenheims or tris as
wholecolor is dominant over particolor. If she has one parent that is a
ruby, then she HAS to carry for red (because the red parent is red only
because the red parent has 2 red genes and so HAD to give her a red gene)
and some of the puppies could be ruby. In this case what mom has in her
background will be the determining factor of what will be the outcome of
this litter. So you have the possibility of rubies and b/ts in this litter
with a very slight chance of blenheims and tris if there are any particolors
in the background of the mother.
