as, i see.. well, check out quanta, it's deffinitely quite a decent HTML tool. 
the project just put out a new release this past week... check it out at:

http://quanta.sourceforge.net/

it's a KDE3 application, so you will want/need KDE3 installed (at least arts, 
kdelibs and kdebase)... there aren't any binary packages available yet for 
Quanta Plus v3 (the new release), but your distro probably has older versions 
on the CD. it may already even be installed =)

of course, being a developer, i'm sure that building from source isn't out of 
your reach, and v3 of Quanta Plus is deffinitely worth it IMO...

as for things like global search and replace, remember that if you don't find 
such features right in the editor you are using, Linux comes with an amazing 
variety of extremeley powerful command line tools. sed, awk and especially 
perl make complex search and replaces a snap.
