Before you trash your old computer look at the BIOS chip. If the BIOS chip has a small window under the sticker we need it. These chips can be reprogrammed and used to make disk-less XTerminals. I don't know about i186 or i286 but most i386 and up have these chips.Just a note, you should be able to reprogram most bios chips even if they aren't UV-erasable. A lot of newer bioses are EEPROMs so they too can be reprogrammed with a PROM burner.
