Thank you everyone. That is great. The problem according to some of the
websites you sent was being caused by a "USERID" reverse lookup in the ftpd
config file. Once I removed it everything started to work a little faster,
but the biggest problem (Head hung in shame) is because port 20 was not also
forwarded to the same computer as port 21.

PS: Nice and fast now. Still takes like 5 min to start the connection, but I
can live with that.
