Everyone should be thrilled to hear that I now have a working installation of Ubuntu Edgy on my laptop (dual boot)!
I was super surprised to find that the wireless worked *out of the box*, even in the text-installer. I was even further amazed to see that all the hotkeys on my obscure laptop work (volume, touchpad disabler) - even the Acer-specific ones! The *only* complaints I have:

1) 1024*768 - my laptop natively runs at 1280*800, yet, its not a choice in the "Screen resolution" panel
2) The battery meter is stuck at 100%. It can accurately tell when I'm plugged in, when I'm not, and when the screen opens and closes. Suspend works, as does hibernation. Yet, when unplugged for over 45 minutes, the battery meter remained at 100% - obviously false.

If anyone has any clues on how to repair these malfunctions, I'd be obliged.
