I'm surprised that so many are missing what I see as the real issue
here:  How do these laws improve the lot of the citizens of the U.S.A? 

Same question to our Canadian politicians.

Everyone that introduces legislation should have already prepared and
released a "How our society will be better off because of <something>"
booklet that is available to all effected citizens.

Just my $0.02, and worth every one of them :)
