I can see both sides of the issue. Yes, it is a good opportunity to observe resident in observation period, but I do not think that it should be required. I have yet to feed a resident who takes less than 15 to 20 minutes, since if it took less time they would have already been fed. I do too many things in the facility already because I am also the ADON, so I feed, toilet, change, work on the floor and my MDS suffers. Can't change anything right now and leave the DON in the lurch.
