I can see both sides of the issue. Yes, it is a good opportunity to observe resident in observation period, but I do not think that it should be required. I have yet to feed a resident who takes less than 15 to 20 minutes, since if it took less time they would have already been fed. I do too many things in the facility already because I am also the ADON, so I feed, toilet, change, work on the floor and my MDS suffers. Can't change anything right now and leave the DON in the lurch. Somehow administration needs to understand that this job is not just filling out a piece of paper and sending it to the state database.
