You do need to do a 60 day assessment but in this case I could use grace days & combine it with the OMRA, doing only 1 assessment.  If her last day of therapy is 4/9, her OMRA would need to be done between 4/17 & 4/19 & using grace days you could set the OMRA out to day 4/19 if you wanted to.  The pay rate would change on day 61.

Subject: OMRA

Question for the group.  I have a res in an observation period with ARD of 4/11/04 for her 60 day assessment.  Day 60 isn't until 4/16/04.  Therapies are d/cing from skilled on 4/9/04 but she will remain skilled due to a surgical wound that dehisced and is getting daily dressing changes with weekly MD visits.  It is my understanding that I would not need to do the 60 day assessment as therapies will be done prior to her actual day 60 but that I will need to do an OMRA assessment between 8-10 days after last day of therapies to reset to a rehab rug level.  I just want verification that this is what others would do.  Thanks and Have a great Easter everyone!   Janice, BSN, RAC-C
