If you set the ARD correctly, you should only have to do one. If the ARD of the OMRA meets both requirements (day 50-64 AND 8-10 after thereapy) you can code it as a 0/8 and have the billing people put the HIPPS modifier to indicate it is an OMRA replacing a 60 day (sorry I don't remember what the correct code is...38 maybe).

Thank you for your response and I am glad I asked because as you pointed out I would still need to do the 60 day assessment as she remains skilled as well as doing the OMRA. I don't know where my brain was at but sure am glad there are others around to keep me doing what I need to be doing. Again thank you. I will be doing the OMRA on 4/19/04 as that will be day 10 for the OMRA and day 63 for the 60 day.----- Original Message -----From: Nathan LakeSent: Wednesday, April 07, 2004 10:01 PMSubject: Re: OMRASince the ORMA will be taking the place of the 60 Day, you just make sure the OMRA has an ARD on or before day 64 AND 8-10 days after the therapy is D/Cd.If I am counting right, that means it needs to be between 4/17/04 and 4/20/04.Nathan----- Original Message -----From: JaniceSent: Wednesday, April 07, 2004 7:42 PMSubject: OMRAQuestion for the group. I have a res in an observation period with ARD of 4/11/04 for her 60 day assessment. Day 60 isn't until 4/16/04. Therapies are d/cing from skilled on 4/9/04 but she will remain skilled due to a surgical wound that dehisced and is getting daily dressing changes with weekly MD visits. It is my understanding that I would not need to do the 60 day assessment as therapies will be done prior to her actual day 60 but that I will need to do an OMRA assessment between 8-10 days after last day of therapies to reset to a rehab rug level. I just want verification that this is what others would do. Thanks and Have a great Easter everyone! Janice, BSN, RAC-C
