Hi. Welcome to the group that no one wishes they had to find. Wow, what a load you have been given to deal with. I can sort of relate and tell you to believe you can beat both of these. My wife was diagnosed with breast cancer 6-7 years ago, had surgery and treatment and is now in remission. I was diagnosed with CML 2 1/2 years ago and have been on 400mg Gleevec and am currently in the stage we call undetectable(PCRU). Since successful BMT (Bone marrow transplant)is considered the only cure, and many are not elgible, this is as good as it gets for most of us. As you read you will find every story a little different but we will share information that we have discovered. My wife and I share each day thanking God for the scientists and doctors that search for the cure to all Illness. Sad to find out we have all these diseases but so wonderful know that life is a long way from being finished. When I was diagnosed they were just starting to say Gleevec would give us 10-20 years instead of 5-10. Recently Dr. Talpaz, one of the top in the treatment of CML, stated that he believes CML patients will probably die other causes. That is the best news that I could be given. Please do not hesitate to ask any question, they are all important. Sorry, to be so long but wanted to share with you.
