I have Iron Deficient Anemia and my RBC dropped to 7.9 which my ONC wanted me to have transfusions for. I know this was caused from Gleevec. During this period of 6 months I was taking 400mg Gleevec and I needed 2 units of platlets every 3 weeks to keep my RBC levels acceptable. In November I stopped taking Gleevec and my RBC raised to 11.-11.9 and has remained there. I am currently waiting for the next Q-PCR in April to see if I will have to return some sort of treatment.
