<>,is that our department has no defined processes.... I have found that,
until we define our processes, the CMS cannot really help us. <>

If the CMS is going to automate already existing tasks - more or less - you
already have processes in place, but they are 'implicit' ie they have not
been observed, identified, extracted, rationalized, optimized, coded. I
mean, the jobs happens in peoples head, then they pass from one tray to
another until they get archived. The you need just to observe the reality in
your 'system' and create a information system that reflects, and hopefully
improves, on your physical reality Defining the processes is an
organizational task, How can you live without defining processes?
Especially 'hierarchical organizations'... sounds strange to me....No
organization can exist witout define processes, whether they're automated or
not. Tell me more about your business young man....

In fact a good CMS can help you get rid of processes,
by letting you do things rather "helter skelter" but since all the data is
collected centrally and structured, you can pick up and go from whatever the
current state <>

Disagree! The entire design of the product or its impmementation depends on
some kind of process definition in my world. But maybe lennart lives in a
different world form mine.
