That sounds scary. Losing balls on deck will be too risky. Can you assemble the cars onto the track on your workbench and then transport the whole system to the deck.
I've chased loose balls on deck, it always ended badly!!

Great source for bedding is: https://marinehowto.com/bed-it-tape/It will be challenging to apply Bed-It to the 27 bolts and get the car to slide past the screw heads so I can push down all the bolts into all the holes. Guess I'll press in a few bolts on the end of the track, to make room for the car, turn the track upside down, load all the balls into the car, and slide the car down the track, past the end so the balls stay in.COn 05/06/2026 11:29 AM EDT Bob Mann via CnC-List <[email protected]> wrote:And wherever possible, tighten the nut, NOT the bolt. Please help cover the costs of maintaining this list by making a small contribution using PayPal at: https://www.paypal.com/paypalme/stumurray All contributions are greatly appreciated. On 05/06/2026 11:17 AM EDT David Knecht via CnC-List <[email protected]> wrote:I roll out a small worm of butyl, wrap it under the head of the bolt and then it gets squeezed when the bolt is tightened. That makes it both waterproof and resistant to galvanic action. I picked that idea up from reading somewhere, but don't remember where. My tracks are standard Harken aluminum with a hollow section down the middle. Thanks,Chuck S--
