That gadget isn't cheap. Another section of track works as well. When I removed the starboard genoa track I found it easy to capture the balls from the car by positioning the track over a bucket and positioning the car slightly passed the end. All the balls fell into the bucket. I found I could install new balls if I held the track and car upside down and exposed the very end of the car. So I used that starboard track to replace the balls on the port track still in place. I lined up the free track with the mounted one and ran the car onto the free track. Then I put that track into a bucket and slid the car off the end to catch all the balls. Next, I put the empty car on the free track and placed it upside down, and loaded new balls into the car. Once it was loaded, I turned the track right side up, lined up the two tracks and simply slid the car back onto it's track. Worked great. No balls fell out. Runs smooth. Now, my challenge is to remount the starboard track and it's car. I think I'll load the balls into the car on the track, while it's upside down, then roll it a couple of feet up the track so the balls don't fall out. I'll need to wrap butyl tape under the heads of 27 bolts, push the end bolts down against the track and clean off the squeeze out, so the the car can transit properly. I'll tape the car onto the track, to be safe. Then I can wrap butyl tape around all the bolts where they extend below the track and install the track to the deck. I'll need to grab a friend to hold each bolt on deck, while I tighten the nuts from underneath. Chuck On 05/06/2026 12:42 PM EDT Hoyt, Mike via CnC-List <[email protected]> wrote:
