Years ago I extended my genoa tracks forward to improve the sheeting for my heavy 90% genoa.(never mind that in the NC sounds, where I sail the winds rarely exceed 20 knots when this sail is useful!)
I don't recall how I got it but I ended up with a short (12-18") Lewmar track and carefully slid the car onto this piece of track while I added the extra track length forward to accommodate the 90% head sail. Once lengthened, I slid the cars from this short track onto the lengthened track with no problems. Easy-peasy and no chance of having car balls bouncing on the deck, water, etc. Charlie NelsonWater PhantomC&C 36XL/kcb Sent from the all new AOL app for iOS On Wednesday, May 6, 2026, 2:00 PM, Hoyt, Mike via CnC-List <[email protected]> wrote: <!--#yiv9367013260 filtered {}#yiv9367013260 filtered {}#yiv9367013260 filtered {}#yiv9367013260 filtered {}#yiv9367013260 p.yiv9367013260MsoNormal, #yiv9367013260 li.yiv9367013260MsoNormal, #yiv9367013260 div.yiv9367013260MsoNormal {margin:0in;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Aptos", sans-serif;}#yiv9367013260 a:link, #yiv9367013260 span.yiv9367013260MsoHyperlink {color:blue;text-decoration:underline;}#yiv9367013260 span.yiv9367013260EmailStyle18 {font-family:"Aptos", sans-serif;color:windowtext;}#yiv9367013260 .yiv9367013260MsoChpDefault {}#yiv9367013260 filtered {}#yiv9367013260 div.yiv9367013260WordSection1 {}--> If you plan on pulling up track take the genoa car off the track first. Guess I'll press in a few bolts on the end of the track, to make room for the car, turn the track upside down, load all the balls into the car, and slide the car down the track, past the end so the balls stay in.
