I remembered reading about clear duos some time ago. :-) >2. if it was a take-off of the original molds - kipped somehow, which seems >unlikely-but-is-at-least-plausible (and what I think pickle was >suggesting) - then even if it wasn't an "engineering sample", it would still >be arguably "genuine", being as close as you could get to "real Apple". > >I mean, no one would argue that an underground distribution of a tape of a >live Springsteen performance at some club wasn't "real", even if selling >that tape wasn't exactly a legally or morally kosher thing to do, would >they? Question is whether or not the clear-green case front is textured. The real apple prototype clear cases are made before the texture is put on the molds. If the case is textured, it is certainly not a prototype (unless someone smarter than me says so. :-) ) On the other hand, if it was made half-unoffically by an Apple employee, wouldn't it be more valuable to sell it as what it is, a one off made by an apple employee in his spare time, in the apple plant, instead of dressing it up as a fake prototype? -Tyler -- Compact Macs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/>.
