<It's important to keep in mind that the video output of an LC is an ANALOG <signal (i.e., smoothly-varying voltages representing levels of brightness), <whereas the Classic and all compact Macs use a type of DIGITAL video signal <(i.e., on and off; white and black; nothing in between). <Without a special circuit to convert the LC's analog output to a 1-bit digital <signal, it won't work. < Rob <>I'm not hoping anything more than the existing analogue board can do by <>trying the swap, just whether there are any obvious reasons why it wont <>work.
Ahaa, it all makes sense now. Thank you for the information. Would it be safe to assume the special circuit to convert the LC's analog output to a 1-bit digital would be complicated or difficult to build? johnsn -- Compact Macs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/>.
