Australians, as far as I can tell, hate warm beer, with good reason because VB
and EB aren't much better than the piss we Americans call Budweiser ;)  But
they call 'em "chemists" too.

Just to clarify what is meant by "medicinal purposes" - IPA, aka rubbing
alcohol, is for topical use only.  It should *NEVER* be taken internally,
because it will NOT get you drunk.  It will, however, give you the worst
possible hangover known to mankind.

Public service announcements aside, even 99% IPA has its medicinal uses.  It's
much better as an astringent than 70% IPA, for example, and is often available
in DIY hardware-type stores in the solvent section as well, as it's a
reasonably good solvent whilst remaining relatively non-toxic (especially
compared to, say, turpentine or mineral spirits).
