Well, turns out exactly like I thought... just needed a LOT of time off to reset - apparently when the comp is shut off it freaks out about having no clock battery, partially corrupts the PRAM, then when you try to turn it on, it has a heart attack. So I left it off overnight, it completely cleared the PRAM, and turned it back on... Ding.
No leaking battery... in fact, I've never seen, in all the 10+ mostly-dead Macs I've seen, a leaking battery at all... maybe I'm just lucky :-) > Pilot wrote: > > >Well... like I said... no money to get a new battery... and I had left it for a > >while... i used to have to leave it for 10 minutes or so, then it'd come back on. > >But here's Aaron. > >http://www.mac.org/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=viewdownloaddetails&lid=86&ttitle=Aaron_[extension]_[FAT] > >I love mac.org.
