But---but--- but--- I thought the power switch cut one of the 2 AC lines, hence completely knocking out power! Soo... that explains why it reset overnight (I had it unplugged b/c I was tinkering with the insides but never plugged it back in)... but not during the 3 hours it was off... plugged in...!
Oh yeah, and the clock doesn't run either (stuck at 12:00.01 AM)... does that mean the CLOCK actually RUNS off that little battery, even when it's on??? Wild.
Well the last part seals it for you I guess. I have a couple of machines without onboard clocks as standard but I've never seen a machine with a stuck clock. I'll check it out next time the backs off one.
All the macs I have make a sound when plugging a live lead into the back of them. As this includes the classics I've thought the classic also provides some current back to the pram when switched off like other models that can boot from the keyboard. There seems always a small drain on a plugged in mac whether its a classic or a G4
The AC line you note as switched goes back to the board rather than the ac-socket, another circuit or componant comes off this track. Whether the plus and classic share the same boards I'm unsure, otherwise there's a plus analog diagram on Gamba's site.
I'm a little over my head now so I'll take your word for it.
