Those old workhorses almost never fail. It just keeps getting a bit 
harder to find ribbons.

It sounds more like you have a problem with the DIP switch settings. Do 
you have the manual? If not, I have one and can try to poke through it 
for you.

What OS, machine and applications are you matching it with?
