Those old workhorses almost never fail. It just keeps getting a bit harder to find ribbons.
Not too difficult though since they are still being produced by Pelikan (Germany), which is probably the biggest ink producer in the world. That ribbon was also used by a lot of other matrix printers of that time and therefore still in demand. Order # 523 472 it says on the Pelikan box.
