Don't forget to "bless" the system on your floppies. I did this in Terminal. I am not sure if the "old-fashioned" way - double-clicking the system folder - does work under OS X.

How do you do it with terminal, please?

Type

" bless -folder9 "

at the command line and drag your system folder in the terminal window, so that the path to it is automatically copy&pasted to get something like this:

" bless -folder9 " /Volumes/YourFloppyName/System Folder "

and hit return.

Just opening / double-clicking the system folder can't hurt either, but I am pretty sure it did work via Terminal.

You can find the options of the bless command by typing "man bless" in Terminal. I think it worked without setting the "-bootBlocks" flag.
Maybe I will try all the steps and write a small tutorial for creating system 7 boot disk s when I get home. Sold my one and only USB floppy on eBay today, but haven't mailed it yet. My SE is going to be my main floppy drive, not that it's networked... :-)
