Hi there, I have just received an SE that has been in pieces in someone's
loft (attic) for years. I have reassembled it and it powers on I can hear
the drive spin up, and a start-up bong, but the screen stays dead as a
..erm.. dead thing. There are no obvious cracks to the tube, the value
looks good too, I have checked the power lead from the board to the crt and
that looks great, actually internally this SE is in great shape, very clean,
the case is a different matter though. I'd love to be able to get this SE
back to life. Of all the compacts I love the SE the most, in my opinion
more usable than a Plus, and a lot more robust than the SE/30, and that
little chirruping sound the HD20 makes is just too endearing !

Any ideas for things to check ?

Note: concerning my simasimac problem many weeks back, the dishwasher trick
worked a treat, the SE/30 boots 100% of the time now ! Thanks for that too.

Thanks all
Mike
