Especially in the fast games on CGOS, the program are not *that* strong. Try 5.5/6.5 (same thing under chinese rules isn't it?) for 6 months and see. My guess is you won't see a clear swing to black unless you come down to 4.5 komi. (Of course the programs that have made opening books with 7.5 komi might see a sudden drop in rating? Perhaps you should announce the change a couple of weeks in advance?) Whether the perfect game is 5 or 7 (or 6 in Japanese rules) is the really interesting question to me, and (unlike Erik) I'm not prepared to bet my money on any of those choices just yet.
