I wouldn't resign to the fact that it's a flaw with the system.  You
have a configuration issue.

A remote session allows someone on the internet to connect to your
computer via the internet.  I have helped out many people online.  So
far the farthest person was in good ol' El Paso, TX.  But I could
login to someone is Japan if needed...
