Okay that file was just my favorites, but they were old so I deleted some of
them. I went ahead and went to mozilla.com and got firefox again. I don't
think the issue is with my hp printer because I've been using it for years
and didn't have this problem. However, if installing firefox doesn't fix the
problem I'll consider it. I want to make sure I can still use my printer and
I guess I'll be able to without the companion to it, but sometimes I use the
printer assistant. Incidentally every website I tried would not go to the
page without typing the www in front of the domain. After I downloaded and
installed Firefox and selected it as my default browser I tried entering
just the domain.com and it worked hooray. I guess it was some problem with
internet explorer so that's excellent. I like Firefox browser, seems to
download pages quicker than IE7. I may install some of the other programs as
well maybe even Thunderbird and the calendar program, it seems pretty cool.
Thanks for the help.

There was a website I found where a user explained the same problem you were
having, their fix was to uninstall their HP printing software (they had
installed from a CD) and then the internet explorer options were fixed.

As far as the reg goes your internet explorer should be resolving the
websites correctly.

Another thing we can try, since I am taking you through 10 loops, is to
download Mozilla Firefox, free download from http://www.download.com

try to enter some websites in that browser and see if you have the same
issue, if it works then your IE would have a problem, if it doesn't work
then it would either be a system wide issue or your internet service.
