Hello, sorry for the long delay - thanks for your replies I got it working for a few days, but I have no idea what I did right. I pulled everything out again and did a bench start, and it fired up OK for the next few boots.
Today, it's died on me again. I thought at first it may have been just overheating badly, as it was especially hot last time it died, but today is fine and Ive got an extra fan running to keep it cooler on my PC. I have today replaced the Power Supply (I had a larger, (600W) spare, so an increase in power), but the problem persists. Still no video output, single beep on boot. I tried another bench test to make sure I wasn't getting a short anywhere. Answers to questions! My MOBO is pretty old, I couldn't find documentation either. Googling for "PTS73" or "PTS73 Motherboard Specs" or whatnot brings up a lot of old, some dead, links. Here's physical specs: There is no on-board VGA, it's pretty basic. Once PCI-E slot, one PCI slot, 2xRAM slots (DDR2), on board sound and the usual USB/ethernet etc and a handful of sata drive slots. The PC was built from scratch a couple of years ago, and has lasted me pretty long without much trouble - I did have a PSU go bang on me about 8 months ago but was fine again after that had been replaced. :( Also, it's not overly dusty in there, I keep it clean and don't use a brush lol Thanks guys :) Luke -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Computer Tech Support" group.
