Why does she not just switch carriers?

I purchased an unlocked phone and ordered a T-Mobile pre-paid SIMM 
online. Cost was well under $10 and included shipping and $10 of air 
time. I had the SIMM in hand the next day. T-Mobile's web and phone 
service is great, but their stores are terrible.
