Prof. Bernstein writes:  "If Saddam didn't have weapons of mass destruction, why did he bother to obstruct the UN inspectors? Why not just give them free and unmitigated access to everything? The fact that this question does not seem to even occur to those so willing to believe that the whole WMD issue was just made up is troubling. I don't put it past the government to lie, and lie egregiously, but Saddam's obstinancy certainly suggests he had something to hide."
 
I agree that Saddam had a lot of unlawful things to hide, but that does not go to the issue of whether Bush committed an impeachable offense by allegedly lying to Congress.
