Ok, that worked fine:
Installing : perl-Git-1.7.1-3.el6_4.1.noarch
1/2
Installing : git-1.7.1-3.el6_4.1.x86_64

Verifying : git-1.7.1-3.el6_4.1.x86_64

Verifying : perl-Git-1.7.1-3.el6_4.1.noarch

Installed:
git.x86_64 0:1.7.1-3.el6_4.1
Dependency Installed:
perl-Git.noarch 0:1.7.1-3.el6_4.1
But when I try the smeserver-git install it still tried to update it to 1.8
from an El5 repository.
