Ian!  You are THE man!! ;)

Thank you so much!!  I didn't realize Stew had compiled a new version - I grabbed the new version & then grabbed the 11d tar.gz and compiled it (apparently the src.rpm is somehow screwy) - and now everything works like a CHARM!

Thank you again,
Brice

Which version of xmms are you running? There was an issue with the initial
version that caused xmms to segfault for me all the time unless I used the
esd plugin. Stew has made a new version which works fine however.

I'm using a modified xmms-1.2.5-0.pre1.5mdk but the one
xmms-1.2.4-13.2mdk.ppc on the mirrors should work as well.. You might need
an older version of the xmms-cdread plugin with an older xmms though...

I just compiled xmms-cdread from scratch with no problems, and upon
telling it to use /dev/cdrom it started playing just fine.

Also I looked at aumix and played with it and when using the xmms-cdread
plugin, it doesn't use the level for CD. If I leave everything at 0 except
the general volume at the top, it plays using that.
