on the Windows machine import the file
/usr/share/doc/samba-doc-2.2.7a/docs/Registry/WinXP_SignOrSeal.reg >into the registry. Saw some references to it on the web when I
was trying to get Windows to behave. Anyway, works for me. *shrug*
