I will try to troubleshoot this more but I did think of that already and added the extra rules to /etc/shorewall/rules. > > This looks like a configuration issue or an authentication problem, > which would lead me to believe > a)Either you have no smbpasswd for the user logged in on the server > which is master browser and you have not got something like "map to > guest = bad user" (now a default). > b)You have not applied the signorseal patch to your XP boxen. I do have smbpasswd and also smbusers. Right now I'm just going to put the current cooker on the machine. I have surmised it does indeed have something to do with the stupid shorewall blocking everything as I have gone back over my smb.conf and fixed a few small issues. It still says however that the system or path is unreachable and it works more or less as soon as shorewall is shut off. > WINS or WINBIND???? sorry wins > > Buchan > > P.S. Ok thanks on this last. I don't really care about multi os anymore. since others build the rpm's for more less desirable distros. I would be willing to test these however and offer any help. -- -~`'~-~`'~-~`'~-~`'~-~`'~-~`'~-~`'~-~`'~-~`'~-~`'~-~`'~-~`'~-~`'~-~`'~-~`'~- Brook Humphrey Mobile PC Medic, 420 1st, Cheney, WA 99004, 509-235-9107 http://www.webmedic.net, [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED] Holiness unto the Lord -~`'~-~`'~-~`'~-~`'~-~`'~-~`'~-~`'~-~`'~-~`'~-~`'~-~`'~-~`'~-~`'~-~`'~-~`'~-
