Somehow I don't think so. We run our domain controller and a few other machines on Mandrake 9.0, and have not had any issues like this, and we have run (almost) everything from 2.2.6-1mdk through 2.2.7a-4mdk (which we currently have installed). If you look at the changelog for -4mdk ot -6mdk, you will see it is mostly configuration file changes and a fix to make smbwrapper compile. > Whatever happened, Samba is working fine now with > Windows XP Pro. > > Incidently, there also are Samba Windows Registry files for Win95, > Win98, WinME, WinNT, and Win2K in: > > /usr/share/doc/samba-doc-2.2.7a/docs/Registry/ > > Comments at the begining of each indicate they are for different > Samba-related purposes (Windows *.reg files are text files that can be > viewed with a text editor). Anyone using Samba with any version of > Windows probably should have a look at them. Be careful with applying those without research. You should not need any of the plainpassword ones, I would suggest against using them at least.
