Somehow I don't think so. We run our domain controller and a few other
machines on Mandrake 9.0, and have not had any issues like this, and we
have run (almost) everything from 2.2.6-1mdk through 2.2.7a-4mdk (which
we currently have installed).

If you look at the changelog for -4mdk ot -6mdk, you will see it is
mostly configuration file changes and a fix to make smbwrapper compile.

Be careful with applying those without research. You should not need any
of the plainpassword ones, I would suggest against using them at least.

FYI, anyone running samba on production servers may want to take note of
the following places:
- -the Binary_packages/Mandrake directory on the samba ftp servers
- - http://people.mandrakesoft.com/~staburet/samba
- - http://ranger.dnsalias.com/mandrake/samba
- - packaging/Mandrake in the source releases of samba
