That's not an issue for me. I don't care as I'd rather have them to
logout and reboot that hit reboot by mistake.

yes. gdm allow them to log in, reboot ( even if most of the time I say
"no need to reboot" ) and ... is beautiful. So this is thye point that
make me made my choice.
When you convert people form win to linux, sometimes you need bells &
whistles. Now I have to learn how to do a gdm theme so that I can
provide a fully personalized theme for the societe( logo, slogan, color
chart, ... )

you're i do apologise. Tha talk is interesting even if I can't see the
point of mdkdm.
It follow kdm config, so ,may have same limit than kdm, for others
things should implement gdm behaviour ( compatible for kdm ? same option
in kdm ? available in kdm ? ).
If I where mdksoft I will better try to add svg support to kdm, unified
gdm/kdm theme, and provide a common beautiful theme for both.
