I agree, and I do the switch also.  Personally I think it's a marketing
thing.  Only problem is, in the free software world, items live or die
by their own merits, and not by virtue of wether the developers put a
garrot around your neck or not.  Users get hip to that immediately.  The
thing that made Mandrake an item was it's freedom and initial success of
it's installation routines.  MDK management seems to have lost sight of
that.

This has happened one too many times.
