I also have this issue with VcXsrc. My alternative is Mobaxterm. This
can launch its own instance of a WSL Linux distribution or run its own
internal shell. Running the internal shell gives a flickery Coot,
whilst running WSL OpenSuse gives a smoother response.

Hope this helps,

Andy

We've seen this problem with VcXsrc. If that's what you're using,
you may want to try Xming instead.

Dear Paul,dear Erwin,

Thank you for your quick reply! It is much appreciated!
ccp4mg shows a similar phenotype (see attached picture).

export LIBGL_ALWAYS_INDIRECT=1 or 0 does not change anything.
Resizing changes the cropping of the picture, but the coordinates
part of the interface is not in the right place.
Also when trying to refine anything in the visible frame I am
unable to pick any atoms.

In windows I switched off all post processing for VcXsrv (which I
use for displaying). No change.
Can/should I disable optimization in wsl2?

Cheers,
Johannes

   What about CCP4mg or Chimera?

It might be a race condition between the gui and the graphics. Try
   adjusting your graphics driver
   optimization level.

   That's good.

   Paul.
