You shouldn't ought be puttin' anything there. Get ahold of
an Ercoupe tank off the plane some time to see how thin
they are and you'll understand why. They're also hard to
replace.

Take a look at where they'd sit. The fuel filler is in the deep part
of the tank, but it's also at the top of the 'hill' so you've still got
a good couple of gallons left when the cork hits bottom.
Also, anyone going to Oshkosh this year -- I'm thinking of flying in from NJ
