I have been following the discussion of corrosion
on the rear hinge and spar caps very closely.
My forney has had extensive work done on the wings,
and I while I have not removed the hinge, I have
been able to inspect the fittings fairly thoroughly.
(I also have the advantage of having a slightly newer
coup which has been living in the dry prairies its
entire life)
My one question pertains to the discussion of
"spar caps". I have looked through my parts manual
and can't find any mention of them. But then the manual
calls the "spars"..."beams".
Can someone elaborate and also suggest what inspection
procedures to use for keeping on top of this problem.
