The web site is http://www.video-access.com/. Be sure to click all of
the links to the other pages
of the web site, except the one to Foreign Object Damage and Debris. It
won't tell you anything about
Ercoupes. My partner (who is an A & P, IA) and I have inspected over 50
Ercoupe/Forney wings and have
found corrosion in over half of the spar caps. The problem with using a
flashlight and mirror, or
using your hand to feel into the cap strip groove, is the location of the
inspection holes specified in
the AD. Each of the forward holes is located in the point of the V of the
ribs, which makes it very
hard to see or feel the spar cap for any appreciable distance. Our
Video-Scope is capable of going
into the rear inspection holes, extending forward to the spar, and looking
down into the groove. It is
also capable of magnification, which a flashlight and mirror cannot do.
We have also found many spars with absolutely no visual corrosion, so
please do not get the idea
that all Ercoupe spars are full of corrosion. Each must be inspected
carefully.
I'd be glad to answer any questions about the Video-Scope and/or
corrosion.
