Yeah, well, my first day of getting to know my new home runways at Sky Manor, I had a comparable experience with a pressurized Skymaster. We were all happily using 25 all afternoon. I was doing pattern work, and was dismayed while on cross-wind to hear 'Skymaster 12345 on the 45 for 7, Skymanor' I replied 'Sky Manor active is 25, 25 Sky Manor' 'Skymaster 12345 downwind for 7, Sky Manor.' 'Sky Manor active is 25, 25 Sky Manor. Ercoupe 06H downwind for 25, Sky Manor in closed traffic' 'Skymaster 12345 base for 7, Sky Manor.' 'Ercoupe 06H extending downwind for wrong-way traffic on 25...' He landed, I landed, and was silly enough to hold for him on his back-taxi, on the taxiway which would have been un-necessary had he USED THE ACTIVE RUNWAY. I should have taxied out onto the taxiway and met him nose-to-nose. Later I bumped into the guy. I asked 'you got something against 25?' He says, no, we were just coming from that direction.' I bit my tongue. I figger it was worth it. It's always good to know who the assholes are. Others about the place. folks seemed to concur. Otherwise, I might accidentally gone flying with this dim-bulb.
