Glen,  The reason your Coupe is safe, is that is doesn't fly.  At least from all the requests for spare parts I hear from you, I don't know how it could.  Don't criticize others for wanting to have a truly air worthy plane.  And, don't criticize us for wanting the other aircraft around and above us to be air worthy.  Un-airworthy planes are much the same as bad pilots.  They don't belong in the air.

Though that sounds neat to say, I have had (rich type) people say that kind of smart-ass thing to me too.  I am not real impressed by that kind of talk because often the people who have a bunch of money to throw at it don't know shit about their airplane and probably won't catch a problem in time.  It's all cosmetics with a lot of them.  They think they are so clever because they paid their mechanic all that money to fix all that supposed "probably fatal" stuff.  On my own Erclunker, I have found that it is quite easy to keep it safe.  You just inspect it every 2 or 3 flight hours.  Once you pinpoint the trouble spots you keep an eye on them for any further downhill movement.  You don't try flying any trips to California, either.  It is easy for you people to say that this fellow won't spend the money.  Some people spend 2/3 or more the average West Virginian's yearly earnings on a C85 engine overhaul.  I wouldn't even if I had it!  It is no surprise some people look for cheap annuals considering these facts.  A bunch of bored grown ups with big bucks to spend on their play toys.  A lot of airports remind me of an overgrown nursery school.  Okay, I'm done.  Glen Ward

I don't know what business it is of yours!   I am the victim of a bad IA too!
That is why I need another bad IA!  Preferably a blind one!  Most of these
people in the DC area are awfully stuck up about seeping tanks and crap like
that!  Personally, I think if it is only wet, not dripping liquid, then it
ought to be able to pass!  I've flown it about 130 hours this past year and it
hasn't killed me yet!  Ronny

It is jerks like you that almost had me killed.
I reported the last A-hole A&P to the FAA due to him ignoring problems that
made my plane unairworthy on a "paper annual".
I should forward YOUR request to the FAA to alert them to what you are trying
to do.
There were at least 4 squawks that could have caused a fatal problem.
Thank GOD that my A&P is consciencous and honest.
SHAME ON YOU!
Mary

Anybody know an easy IA this area? Please reply off list.  Want one that
will
go real easy.  Plane flies real nice, has minor problems of the
who-gives-a-heck type.  Anybody know any mail-order IA's?  I have heard
they
    exist.   RS
