advice in this forum.]----

I don't claim to know 'didley-squat' about airplanes. I know where
the 'go knob' is and the
steering wheel and that's about it.
Of course I'm a pretty low time pilot, I didn't get started until in
the 1930's. That's why the CAA
(oh, that's right, I heard they've changed it to FAA) invented A&E
mechanics (oops, they've changed that
too. I think it's A&P now. What's the difference between an Engine and a
Powerplant? Or have we gone
to diesel, electric or solar power already and I missed it?)
Oh well, I'll go back to my rocking chair and finish reading my
'Ercoupe Service Manual' now so I
can further educate my AP/IA as to what he is supposed to look for and
inspect before he signs it off.
He's a good aircraft mechanic, (makes his living working on helicopters),
he just isn't 'familiar' with
coupes. But he won't sign off anything that he doesn't consider 'safe'
and/or 'legal'. My kinda guy!
That's why he works on my plane. He keeps me alive! (Now, if I can just do
the same thing) ; - )
