One of the brackets my plane used to hold the compass on the center
windshield brace broke on a long (to the Pacific Ocean) cross country. 
The FBO where I stopped for fuel looked at the pieces I had and said,
"Ahh, a Piper center brace compass mount bracket."  He went into his
parts room and brought one out.
