My Ercoupe with the compass in the top center hole in the panel proved to
be 30 degrees off in North and South headings and further proved to be
impossible to swing. So I bought a bracket from someone, Skyport?, and
mounted a second compass on the center windshield post and that one, I
can swing accurately. Did they call that bracket a Mooney compass
brackett? Anyway, it is a one piece mounting bracket made of flat metal
with 4 breaks, a mounting hole in the front for the compass, and mounting
holes drilled for the post mounting screws.
