First be absolutley sure  that your ring gap is correct. If your ring gap
is 
to large you'll have poor compression. If it's too small as the cylinder &

rings heat up - the rings cannot expand,thus causing them to shatter. 
We have seen numerous cases in our shop due to mechanics not filing down
the 
rings to the proper gap.
If possible use continental rings - not superior air parts rings - TCM
rings 
are harder.
Auto fuel VS 100LL - makes no difference when it comes to rings.
when breaking in - run for 1 hr. - let cool completley-(overnite) NO touch
& 
go's for 5hrs. been doing this over 20yrs with no problems seating or 
break-in .
