Since earily this morning for no apparent reason, I am getting 456 Address temporary unavailable. for only one of my hosted domains, no matter what the email address is. I have checked the text files and rebuilt the data bases for:

 smtpaccess

 Users quotas have been checked

Have you checked your syslog? If you're getting a 4xx or 5xx from the SMTP session, then there should be some report of the issue from courieresmtpd in your logs. I'd expect some kind of DNS problem, but the log should give some idea of the issue.

Thanks, Bill. Complete error is:

Sep 12 07:09:10 unixmania courieresmtpd: error,relay=66.35.250.225,from=<[EMAIL PROTECTED]>,to=<[EMAIL PROTECTED]
m>: 456 Address temporary unavailable.

It started about 3 am with no restart of courier or anything. I found a work around by replacing the file "me" with a domain that has no accounts. On all my other machines have me=`hostname` This one now isn't. After the change it immediately started receiving mail and no more errors. There is no doubt in my mind that this is not the solution but a workaround but I have no idea what the problem is or why this works.

Thanks, again,

ed
