Just that if there were couriertls processes, they'd be counted.  It'd 
inflate your count a little (up to double).

Right, but the couriertls will also have that in its process title.

Yes, 400 connections and up to 800 processes (potentially more if you 
have gamin and enabled enhanced IDLE).

I really only meant to clarify that the manner in which you were 
counting was potentially inaccurate.  There seems to clearly be 
something else going on.

I trust that you do, but the string you said you were searching for will 
appear in process titles other than the imapd process.
